Vision & Mission
Because the world needs Jesus, we come together to know him so we can go make him known as we live in work, witness, and worship.
Belong
We deliberately welcome people to find their place in biblical community as we live life together in meaningful relationships.
Biblical community is coming together with other followers of Jesus in a way that reflects the love of God to a watching world (John 13:34-35). As we live together in the type of community for which we have been designed we can be ready to invite others to experience a community where they can belong as well.
Grow
We intentionally seek discipleship relationships that result in spiritual growth in our relationship with Jesus.
Our relationship with Jesus stirs in our hearts a desire and longing to grow in our knowledge of him and his love. It’s a desire to not just know about him, but to truly know him. Relationships with others help that to happen when they are intentional. Discipleship relationships come in different shapes and forms. It may be one-on one mentoring, or it may be small groups or mid-sized groups. Intentional discipleship relationships include all five of the following aspects:
Bible—the Bible is our authority, and it is our source of the truth God has for us. We grow as disciples as we study his word.
Prayer—prayer is our lifeline of communication with God. It is in prayer that our hearts align with his. Great power and growth come as we learn to pray with others and seek him together for leading.
Life-on-life—fellowship and living life together. We have been designed to be with other believers. It is as we live life together that we can help each other in the journey of growth.
Mission—we are commanded to go into all the world. An intentional discipleship relationship is one that involves not only self-growth but also is looking to reach intentionally outside the church together.
Accountability—Walking alongside someone in transparency which allows for mutual encouragement and exhortation.
Serve
We excitedly volunteer to serve using our passions and our gifts in the church and in the community.
Serving is essential for followers of Jesus. He made it clear that just as he had come to serve, so should we (Matthew 20:26-28). It is in serving with a heart of compassion that we have a great chance to make Jesus known. We seek to use our time, gifts, passions, talents, and abilities to build up the church and to make an impact in the communities in which we live.
Testify
We consistently and boldly share the truth and love of Jesus across the street and around the world so that many may come to know Christ as Savior.
Jesus came to be the Savior of the world. We are to testify to that truth. The world does not readily recognize this to be true, but we know it to be true! We know that we need a Savior, and we know that each person needs the Savior as well. We look for ways to build relationships with people so that we can share the relationship with Jesus that we have found. We look for him to multiply the number of people who are being saved.
Celebrate
We worship God and glorify him by regularly and visibly celebrating him and his work, recognizing his hand in the circumstances of our lives.
Celebrating requires a pause to look back and to look around. It stops to see where God has been working and takes the time to worship and praise him for his faithfulness, goodness, and love. It places his work and plans ahead of ours. It takes us to a place of expectancy. Celebration reminds us that it is he who is to be praised and that he will not share his glory with another.
